They follow the progress of a patient from before admission, through the surgical operation and hospital stay and at home afterwards. Each video also contains an explanation of the joint replacement surgery using X-rays, plastic models and computer graphics. The videos are designed to be viewed by patients before admission. These videos will help the patient, the orthopaedic team and the relatives and carers. In an era when patient satisfaction and informed consent are paramount, these two tapes have much to offer.
