ORGANELLE DIAGRAM: CELL NUCLEUS:
In this picture, the cell nucleus is drawn as a purple ovoid, with a segment cut away to reveal the contained spherical nucleolus. The nucleus sits roughly in the middle of the cell and contains the cell's genetic information encoded in DNA. The nucleus is demarked by a double membrane, the nuclear envelope, which segregates the nuclear contents from the rest of the cell. Molecular portals, called nuclear pores, permit certain traffic in and out of the nucleus.
